In recognition of International Reggae Day (IRD) tomorrow, several venues worldwide will be rocking to an irie beat.

"There are dances and parties being held in different cities such as New York, London, Santiago, Mexico, Rio and Madrid," producer of the IRD festival, Andrea Davis, said.

The festival kicks off in Kingston with a conference hosted by The Jamaica Pegasus, and continues with a series of events throughout the day.

"The conference is about securing Jamaica's competitive advantage on the international market (as it relates to reggae)," Davis said.

The festival culminates with an after party at the Countryside Club, Kingston. The party begins at 10 p.m.

IRD will have a strong online presence and fans can visit www.ireggaeday.com for new releases, special playlists and live streams of events worldwide.
