Promoters of Appleton May Daze Stephen Willie (left) and Dwayne Harris. - Contributed Jamaica's premiere pre-summer party series - Appleton May Daze returns this May for its fifth staging, and the promotional team from Good Company are promising to package the high energy and vibe of the past four years into an entertainment bundle, which will see patrons witnessing 'Five years in Five nights of Fun, Frolic and Fantasy' under the theme, 'The Remix'. Appleton May Daze - the remix will see five events, voted as crowd favourites over the past four stagings being bundled together to secure the quality entertainment package that the promoters execute and try to outdo each year. This year will be no different as old themes return with the same great, infectious vibe, this time at a new venue - The Sagicor Parking Lot, New Kingston. "It's hard to believe, we are now five years old," said promoter Stephen Willie. "The good thing is the party never gets old, and our patrons who have always supported us from day one, continue to make the May Daze experience an exciting one." The fantasy journey is set to begin with a trip to 2008 with 'Forbidden Fantasy - Masks and Beads'; this event is literally where Appleton May Daze began. This marked the first event of the series with the concept of delivering a Mardi Gras style party, where female patrons are encouraged to do what they see fit to get beads from the males; with their identities hidden behind masks, there is no bounds to how far they'll go and the female with the most beads will win an exciting prize. 'Short Temper - Short Shorts vs Skirts' will follow on Friday, May 1. This theme celebrates the eye candy experience of seeing beautiful females adorned in short shorts or skirts. It will serve to drive an enticingly flirtatious vibe throughout the night, while trying to find out if short shorts or short skirts have more sex appeal. Again the female in the hottest shorts or skirt will win a prize. May 18, sees the return of the 90's event - 'BrukOut in Black'. Full black will be the order of the night and some of the best selectors with an astounding drive for the beloved 90's have already been confirmed for this event and have promised the best pre-summer 90's experience for 2012. The promoters of Appleton May Daze have always tried to maintain a standard of quality, creativity and fun events, one such event of the series is 'Mayhem - The Krazy Dress Fête' which premiered in 2009. Patrons will be encouraged to dress fashionably crazy. This will be motivated by the prizes that the patron with the craziest outfit is poised to walk away with courtesy of the promoters and sponsors. The event series comes to an end with an event which will be a prelude to the plans for the 2013 staging of the series; it is dubbed '2013 - Back to the Future'. The event will seek to captivate the hearts of patrons who will party hard for one more night, as promoters create a futuristic experience that they promise will be etched in the minds of patrons for years to come. At the end of the series, the promoters will name the Appleton May Daze 'Ultimate Fan' which will be the patron who attends all the parties in the series, take pictures of themselves and submit to the Appleton May Daze Facebook group each week for a chance to win a brand new BlackBerry Torch. "This year we'll be a lot more active on our social media outlets. The aim is to connect directly with our patrons using our Facebook fan page (May Daze) and Twitter account (@AppletonMaydaze). These media will be used for giveaways and also to provide information about the event series," commented promoter, Dwayne Harris. He went on further to say that Twitter will be kept abuzz with May Daze using the hash tag #AppletonMaydaze and persons who use the hash tag in their posts will win tickets and prizes each week. Rough Rider, Roaring Lion, MIVIDA Water and Appleton Jamaica Rum has partnered with the May Daze team to deliver yet another unforgettable event series. "Appleton May Daze represents what the Appleton brand is about ... quality and fun," said Appleton Jamaica Rum brand manager, Cecil Smith, reaffirming that there is 'no party without Appleton' and that the summer party season doesn't get off to the right start without Appleton May Daze. |
