A 22-year-old bag juice vendor along with a 15-year-old youth, who are both charged with robbery with aggravation, will return to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on May 4.

The 22-year-old accused man Christopher Bailey from August Town, and his 15-year-old accomplice from Kingston are accused of robbing a 14-year-old student.

It is alleged that on April 3, both accused armed with hockey sticks held up a complainant, who is a student of a Corporate Area all-boys school, and robbed him of a cellphone, valued at $15,000, and $500 in the Mona area.

The men then fled and Bailey and his accomplice were chased on to the nearby University of the West Indies, Mona campus, by angry residents, where they were arrested and held. The student later turned up at the police station and made a report.

The arresting officer pointed out that there has been a slew of crimes in which hockey sticks are the weapons of choice.

Interestingly, the 15-year-old, who was absent from court yesterday, will know his fate in the Gun Court today, after it is alleged that he stole a gun from a police station. The gun was, however, recovered by the police.

Bailey pleaded not guilty and his attorney told Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey that her client knew nothing of the incident as he was not held on the University campus, but rather a bus stop in the area.
