The invited guests at the Red Label Wine/STAR People's Choice Awards got much more than they had bargained for from the performers at the event.

Quite unlike most other award shows, artistes such as Romain Virgo, I-Octane, Spice, T.O.K, Bounty Killer, Gaza Slim and Freddie McGregor delivered solid sets and certainly had the attention of the guests.

The event began with dancers Card Unit showing off their moves to Chris Brown's Don't Wake Me Up, among other songs. Tied in with a few acrobatic stunts, the dancers showed why they were a success in Dancin' Dynamites.

Female Deejay of the Year, Gaza Slim, with Children Are Our Future which features Vybz Kartel and Independent Ladies, got a decent response from the audience when she followed as the next performer.

The strong voice of Ikaya rang out from the Gleaner Roof Garden when she touched the stage. Delivering songs such as Fly Away and Hard Way, she got a favourable response, especially when she showed her versatility by deejaying.

Dancehall group T.O.K gave a stunning performance of their new single The Voice. The audience was particularly impressed by Bay-C and his ability to pitch the high note in the hook. They also took the opportunity to denounce crime and violence performing a new song called Mankind Too Evil, chanting against child abuse.

Spice was next deejaying hits like A Yah Suh Great and Jim Screechie. She was on top of her game as usual as the two performed Why Yu Mad before their exit.

Dance Ja recently opened their dance school in Central Plaza, Half-Way Tree and dancers Kimiko Versatile and Craig Black Eagle gave a good representation of the camp, with a teasing dance routine of Lady Saw's Heels On.

Cyah Sleep and Love Doctor were among the songs that reggae artiste Romain Virgo performed during an excellent set. The patrons sang along with each selection, enjoying every bit.

The legendary Freddie McGregor came next and he belted out a series of classics from his catalogue. Songs like Push Come to Shove and Big Ship had patrons giving him encores.

Freddie was followed by I-Octane who treated patrons to Suffa Too Long, We Love the Vibes, Gyal a Gimme Bun and Missing You Like Crazy. His set was filled with energy and was well received.

The event was closed off by the man who walked away with most of the awards, Bounty Killer. He delivered a few songs before being joined onstage by I-Octane for a grand finale with Badmind Dem A Pree.
