A man who escaped from the St Catherine Adult Correctional Centre two years ago was recaptured by the police yesterday afternoon.

The man back in custody is Jason Scott, 30-year-old, of Damhead in St Catherine.

Reports are that about 1 p.m., police went to Reid's Mountain in the parish, where the fugitive was reportedly held in bushes.

Police report are that Scott was chopped several times on Wednesday night, and had to seek refuge in the bushes where he was eventually held.

In February 2010, Scott jumped the perimeter fence along White Church Street and ran away from correctional officers. Investigators said he was serving time for murder when he escaped.
