Star Tell Me Pastor

Most Jamaican women are gold diggers?

Dear Pastor,

I pray all is well with you. I have been reading your column in the Star a few months now. I really love your column and the advice you give to people. I am incarcerated. I was charged with drug trafficking. I don't want to be rude but I used to frequent Jamaica and came across many beautiful ladies from Kingston, Spanish Town, St Elizabeth and many other parishes. What I realise is that the ladies I met only had one goal in mind.

Their main goal is to be gold diggers. I have seen the same thing in my own country, Bahamas. I find Jamaican women to be more loyal and they pay more attention to their men. They are cleaner and can cook. I am not degrading the women of my country but that is how I see it.

I am financially secure, but life is much more than money. People with money have more problems than people without money. I am a living example because I am locked up. I love Jamaica to my heart and call Jamaica my home. I love everything about Jamaica, the culture, people, history and the food. I am not looking for any jailhouse love or a penpal to buy me any car tyres or pay my rent. I am looking for a lady to settle down with and to spend the rest of my life with. I want a soulmate who is ambitious and from Jamaica.

A.

Dear A.,

Whether you know it or not, it is rather in poor taste for you to describe Jamaican women as gold diggers but at the same time expressing your desire to have a relationship with one. Man, you are not using your head. You believe you are smart, but you are not exercising common sense.

By the way, when you say you are financially secured, what do you mean? How many years do you have left in prison? You talk big but can you back up what you say?

Pastor
