Downsound recording star Khago is working overtime as he continues to build his legacy in dancehall music.

The hard-working entertainer was recently nominated in the Singjay of the Year and Most consistent Performer of the Year categories for the Linkage Awards scheduled to take place later this month in New York.

Khago is currently blowing FM radio with a barrage of new singles including Marina Stretch Out, Road Dawg, Horny Man, Tonight and Bad Breed, featuring Nazeer and Cathrina.

"Mi nah play ease-up with mi career. Yuh know how hard mi work fi reach weh mi deh right now inna this business and mi still tell mi self sey mi nuh reach no weh yet cause mi have a lot more to achieve," Khago declared in a recent interview.

Khago also stated that he firmly believes his soon-to-be-released debut album will play a key role in taking his career to the next level.

"Right now the mission is to take my career to the next level. At the end of the day, when mi look back pon mi career 30 years from now, mi want the works weh mi do stand out among the greatest of all times in dancehall music. That's why we a do everything to make sure the album is perfect. We want it to appeal to people from all walks of life from all over the world. A mi first album and it haffi connect. Once it connect with the people, it will help to take me to a higher level," said Khago.

Khago is rated by many dancehall fans as one of the best new stars the genre has produced. His performance two weeks ago in Montego Bay, at the St James Parish Council's Mobay Night Out event, showed why he is so highly rated.

Taking the stage at 11 p.m., Khago delivered a top-class performance which included hits such as Nah Sell Out, Cant Cool, Badmind A Go Kill Dem, Love Stomach, Daddy From You Gone and Road Dawg. Even after doing two encores, fans were still screaming for more.

Also in the works for Khago are music videos for Tonight, Marina Stretch Out and Bad Breed.
