Three charged for stealing rum |

|
Three former contracted employees of Wray and Nephew Limited will spend the next 10 days in jail after they appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate Court yesterday, charged for stealing rum from the spirit manufacturer. Charged with larceny as a servant are Marcus Page, Gregory Osbourne and Dwayne Francis. All three accused pleaded guilty to the charges. two flask The court heard that the men stole two flasks of White Rum, two flasks of Campari and two flasks of Appleton. They each had two bottles strapped to their legs. The court was further told that a stop and search was conducted by security at an exit point to the property and the liquor were found in their possession. Resident Magistrate Opal Smith sentenced the men to 10 days in jail for the offence. The Resident Magistrate also expressed, " ... in these harsh economic times you do something like this ... you all can thank yourselves later, now that you all are out of a job!" |
