Rasbert Turner, STAR Writer
The Bog Walk police in St Catherine are trying to locate the person or persons who broke into a Seventh-day Adventist church in the area and made off with more than $100,000 worth of items. Reports are that on Monday morning, persons affiliated with the Bog Walk Seventh-day Adventist Church went there and saw a door broken off. Closer inspection discovered that tiles and other materials were missing. It was also revealed that this break-in came after the police were called in a few days earlier to remove a man said to be of unsound mind from the church. This man was said to have invaded the church in the nude and started to warn members. "It look like a pure movie type ting a gwaan inna di church as is the other day the police were called in to move a mad man, and now dem go tief out the people dem tings," a resident said. The police have confirmed the incident and plan to conduct further investigations to find those who vandalise the place of worship. |
