Elite alcohol beverage Hennessy will continue its strong support of dancehall during the upcoming Easter holidays with sponsorship of some of the most-talked-about events.

For long, Hennessy has been touted as a preferred choice of consumption by several well-established artistes, namely Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, and Mavado, via their songs.

The cognac, introduced to the island in 1996, will continue to align itself with dancehall because it offers the same experience and lifestyle that the brand is all about, according to Debbian Spence-Minott, J. Wray & Nephew Ltd's group brand manager, imported wines and spirits.

"This Easter period, the dancehall scene will be roaring with a series of top-class events that have been specifically selected by Hennessy Jamaica and which will go down in history as one of the most memorable experiences in dancehall," said Spence-Minott.

"Since Hennessy's introduction to the Jamaican market, dancehall has played an integral role with the experience and lifestyle that the brand is all about. Hennessy places a lot of importance on blending - the blending of art, talents, experiences, cultures and, most importantly, the blending of the liquid that creates Hennessy's amazing taste, which makes it the number-one cognac in the world."

Spence-Minott emphasised responsible drinking while assuring that all Hennessy-sponsored events will give patrons an experience never to be forgotten.

"We have decided to blend all promoters of Hennessy events during the Easter week and established ourselves as one team working towards one goal, which is to ensure that patrons over the age of 18 can come out and enjoy themselves responsibly and in a safe environment and, most importantly, flaunt their taste with Hennessy at a very reasonable price," she said.

The Hennessy Easter week of events runs from April 16-26. They include Roses, today at Oneil's Place; Easter Jam - British Link-Up Saturday at Boat Dock - 2b Port Royal Street; Wet Wet - Black and White at Rockfort Mineral Bath and Red Carpet at Oneil's Place, both on April 20; Mansion Party on April 21 at Chancery Hall; Yellow and White on April 22 at Boat Dock; GQ Meets Vogue on April 24 at Oneil's Place, and Touch of Blue on April 26 at Stone Love HQ.
