Reggae singer Asfa is determined to become a household name in Jamaican music.

Cognisant of the fact that true success in any sphere of life can only be achieved through hard work and dedication, Asfa is working assiduously to make it in the local music arena.

Asfa was very active during the month of February (Reggae Month), as he did a series of live performances. He also did several interviews and street promotions for his single, Many Are Called.

Asfa's activities during Reggae Month included appearances on tribute shows for Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Bunny Rugs. He also gave a stirring performance in support of the United Negro Improvement Association at the General Penitentiary that was well received by the inmates.

"I've been very busy in recent times promoting my music. So far, I've done over a dozen shows across the island. I have also done a number of interviews on several major radio stations and TV stations. Thanks to my road manager, Ricardo Berry, we have been able to accomplish a lot on the road. He's a very hard-working member of the team," said Asfa.

One of Asfa's most memorable interviews during Reggae Month was on RJR 94 FM on Dionne Jackson-Miller's show, Beyond the Headlines.

"This interview was very good in a number of ways. It gave me the opportunity to promote my music to a very wide audience."

Asfa is currently promoting the music video for Many Are Called.

"The video is out and it's getting a lot of support. My team and I are doing everything to push it as much as possible," said the artiste.

The August Town native is also hoping to secure a spot on this year's staging of Reggae Sumfest.

"I would really love to get an opportunity to perform on Sumfest this year," he said.
