Bringing God's word to the world

Pastor Edgar T Pickett III - George Henry

GEORGE HENRY, STAR Writer

Name: Edgar T. Pickett III

Church you attend: Word Alive Ministries, Lakeland, Florida USA.

Position in the church: Senior Pastor.

When did you get saved: I got saved on June 15, 1982.

Tell us about the moment you got your conviction: My conviction came as I sat in a service the night of my salvation. As I sat there listening to the word being proclaimed, something began to tug at my heart, telling me that I needed to change. I later found out that this was the work of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit drew me to the altar, where I surrendered my life to Christ Jesus.

What has been your most miraculous experience: I would have to say one of the greatest miracles that God did for me was open a door of opportunity to preach His word around the world. I never saw myself doing this. I was content with just being; saved and delivered. But God had greater plans for me. I have been blessed to preach the Gospel in Nigeria, West Africa, Seoul, South Korea; Ukraine; and many cities in the States. Now we are proclaiming the Gospel in Jamaica. I call all of these open doors, miracles.

Message to Christians: My message to Christians is to love God with all your heart, and to love their neighbours as themselves. Also, they should have a desire to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Then become the greatest witness for Him as they can.

Message to non-Christians: My message to non-Christians would be to accept Christ as their Saviour. It would be for them to open their hearts and allow Him to come in. I would tell them that time is short, and life is short. Don't delay, get saved today.

Favourite Bible scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17. Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things are passed away; and behold, all things are become new.

Favourite line of one of your favourite songs: My favorite song is an old hymn in the church, "Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I'm found. Was blind, but now I see".
