|||||
Ricky Teetz Montego Bay-based artiste Rickey Teetz made an important move in his career when he delivered a scintillating set during his debut performance during Reggae Sumfest Dancehall Night at Catherine Hall last Thursday. He hit the stage singing God Bless on the Island Blend rhythm and immediately a roar went up from the massive audience for their home town hero. He segued neatly into the Lighters Up song which elicited a great response from the crowd, with several patrons putting up their lighters and cellular phones in the air. At one point, the venue transformed into a moving sea of pinpoint lights as Rickey Teetz worked every inch of the stage expertly. After this emotional song, Teetz then kicked up things a notch with dancehall chart-burners like the energetic Tip Yuh and his latest release, Physically, which had the ladies in the audience dancing up a storm. Rickey Teetz brought his powerful stint to a climax by doing the conscious single, Poverty Life. He exited the stage with a few lines from 1000 Blocks and screams of approval from his legion of fans. "It was a great feeling doing my first performance on a Reggae Sumfest stage and my fans can look forward to more progress and growth from me in 2014," he said.
