Chadrick Martin joins God's army
GEORGE HENRY, STAR Writer

Chadrick Martin - George Henry

Chadrick Martin was a proud teenager recently when he stepped into the pool at the Sanguinetti New Testament Church of God in Clarendon to be baptised.

The young man, who is a past student of the Alston High School, was an excited candidate while he testified before being baptised by Reverend Dr Roy Owens, pastor at the church.

During his testimony before entering the pool, the proud Christian told the congregation that God has kept him and he is happy to be walking with Him; and he wants to serve Jesus, because there is no better life to live than to live a good life for Christ.

He told THE STAR's Life and Times that his conviction came one night while attending an open air meeting at the community centre in his district. He shared that he listened to the preacher preaching about Hell and Heaven being real; and he knew that he did not want to go to Hell to be burnt in everlasting fire. It was there and then that he decided that he wanted to live for God.

"Before I got saved I felt lost and like a criminal, because I used to do a lot of things that were wrong. However since giving my heart to the Lord I feel free and happy to know that I have somebody who is always with me; and I don't feel lost. I now have a friend who is protecting me and helping me not to do the wrong things; someone who is directing me in the right path," testified Martin.

The young Christian wants those who are not on the Christian journey to know that God is real and that whatever they want they cannot get it from the world; because it (the world] does not have anything to offer them. He noted that once they have God in their life, they can get anything if they just ask Him in faith believing. He was however quick to say that the Christian pathway is not easy, but with God's help and guidance they can make it.

Martin wants those who are saved to know that the pathway they are on is the right one and though the journey might be long they should continue to walk with Christ, because in the end they will be rewarded. He warned that those who are playing church should get their act together, because as Christians they should not be serving two masters, because God is a jealous God.
