The first ever Magnum Queen of the Dancehall, Baby Tash, is all set to ignite The Bahamas with a headline appearance at the Jamaica Independence Celebrations at the Queen Elizabeth Sports Centre in Nassau on August Monday.

The deejay, who will be making her debut performance in the Bahamas, told The Weekend Star that she was excited to grace The Bahamian stage and will be bringing her signature seductive, high-energy performance style with her.

''I'm very excited,'' she said. "I leave on the first of August for the Bahamas, where I will be the headline act for that show. It's an amazing opportunity for me, the promoters found me online based on the Reggae Sumfest highlights that I have been receiving, and instantly, I was booked for that event."

Upon her return from Nassau, Baby Tash will appear at the Mr Universe annual birthday bash at Mingles Nightclub, Savanna-la-mar, Westmoreland on September 19. She is negotiating a series of other overseas appearances for the rest of the year.

Since winning her Magnum Queen title in 2008, the deejay has worked with a number of producers and has released several singles, notably Champion Bubbler, Step to me, Bumpa and her latest single, First Night. A video for it is to be released soon.

The deejay is working out of her Phatashie Entertainment label, alongside her team of Mr Universe, Claude Mills and Aaron Lawrence.
