Tallawahs won't underestimate Hawksbills

Gayle

Chris Gayle, captain of the Jamaica Tallawahs, said his charges will not be underestimating the Antigua Hawksbills heading into today's Limacol Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 clash at Sabina Park.

The Hawksbills, captained by Jamaican Marlon Samuels, are presently second from bottom in the six team league after failing to record a win in their five matches to date.

The Tallawahs, on the other hand, are in third on six points after amassing a three wins and a defeat in their four fixtures to date.

best cricket

"It's a tough game for us, as most teams when their backs are against the wall, that's when they play their best cricket," said Gayle.

"Unfortunately Antigua is in that position and as such we will have to be at our best."

The Tallawahs, who are coming off a 13-run loss to leaders Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel in Trinidad, will head into the clash looking to bounce back to winning ways, with that in mind the team expected to start is similar to the ones that gave them a perfect start.

number three

The stylish but effective Chadwick Walton, is set to join Gayle at the top of the order, with the number three position going to young Jermaine Blackwood, or Englishman Owais Shah.

Australian Adam Voges, who while not making big scores has been efficient in stemming the flow of wickets, is once again expected to lead the middle order, which also contains Andre Russell and Carlton Baugh Jr.

The team's bowling, in the meanwhile, is likely to see New Zealander Daniel Vettori opening with the new ball along with Jerome Taylor.

The Tallawahs will face the Guyana Amazon Warriors on Saturday, and the Barbados Tridents on Sunday in their other two home fixtures.
