Most cartoon heads will recognise Chemical X from the popular Powerpuff Girls cartoon.

It is a powerful chemical that gives people superpowers and special abilities. In dancehall, the artiste known as Chemical X, will simply flip your wig with his brilliant rhymes and 'sick', head-knocking flow.

He is creating a buzz stateside with a song called Ghetto Quality.

"This is my first official song and I am pleased with the reaction so far. I worked with Russian once on the Dynamite riddim in 2012. I am currently working with some young producers at this moment, and the future looks bright," the artiste whose real name is Kemar Whyte said.

With the buzz around Ghetto Quality, established producers have begun to send beats his way.

"I am ready for the next level right now," he said.

Born in Kingston and raised in Portmore, Chemical X developed his love for music at a tender age. When he was six, he recorded his first song on a cassette tape titled Pan Di Ends. While growing up in Portmore, he attended Ascot High School.

In 2005, he migrated to the United States of America where he finished high school. Living in Brooklyn, New York with his mother Dautris Whyte, Kemar spent his days and nights practicing his music, almost never leaving the studio. He is musically influenced by Super Cat, Bob Marley, Sizzla, Beenie Man and Bounty Killer.

In 2013, Chemical X finally recorded Ghetto Quality, under the One Shot Records label. He also shot a video for the song which has begun to generate radio play on several Internet radio stations.
