Reggae singer Nesbeth showed that he is much more than just an 'Ole Gangalee', but that he also has heart of gold as he has made a charitable donation of much-needed sports equipment to two outstanding female members of the Arnett Gardens FC.

The women's football team competes in the Sherwin Williams Women's Premier League.

He made the donation to Sadee Lewis and Anna Kay Richardson on behalf of the Nesbeth Outreach Foundation.

"We believe in the empowerment of young people who are active in the academic areas, performing arts and sports. I see these young ladies as future national players who will represent Jamaica at an international level," Nesbeth said.

The handover of the sports equipment, which also included shin guards and football boots, was made at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex last week Wednesday during the half time intermission of a game between Arnett Gardens and Waterhouse FC.

During the ceremony, Nesbeth urged the players to continue to strive for greatness.

"Stay focussed, fit and become your greatest fan," Nesbeth said.

The reggae singer has seen a resurgence in his career with his Ole Gangalee remake which hit the # 1 position on the Jamaica Music Countdown charts for four consecutive weeks, and controlled the pole position on the Stampede Street Charts for five consecutive weeks, making it one of the year's biggest reggae singles.

The video also held the top spot on the Suzie Q Video Alley charts. Nesbeth recently shot a video for his latest project, Taste Victory, released on the Entertainment Soul imprint.
