Man allegedly kills brother over phone charger

A man has been charged for murder in connection with the killing of his brother, 36-year-old Leroy Lindsay, a Seventh-day Adventist elder of Sommerset in St Thomas.

The accused, Winston Lindsay, was charged by the Morant Bay police after he reportedly went on the run on August 8, following an alleged confrontation with the now deceased over a missing phone charger.

He was subsequently captured by residents in the community the following day and handed over to the police.

Charged with the capital offence, Winston appeared In the Yallahs Resident Magistrate's Court where he was remanded. His case was also transferred to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court for mentioning on September 1.

Allegations against the accused are that Leroy had gone with church members to clean his father's house, where his brother also resides.

Following the cleaning of the house, Winston's phone charger went missing and Leroy was accused of its disappearance.

It is reported that days later Leroy allegedly had a confrontation with Winston over the charger. During the confrontation, he was stabbed several times.
