André Williams, STAR Writer

A cabbie is now dead after men allegedly posing as police officers invaded his home in Store Hill, St Catherine, shot him and partially severed his head.

Information reaching our news desk is that about 1 a.m. on Wednesday, unknown assailants murdered 25-year-old taxi operator Kevin Lawrence.

THE WEEKEND STAR gathered that Lawrence used to ply the St Johns Road to Spanish Town St Catherine route.

According to reports, Lawrence and his sibling were asleep when men posing as police officers tore down the door of their Store Hill home, near Kitson Town.

THE WEEKEND STAR was told that Lawrence's sibling made good his escape after loud explosions were heard.

Lawrence was soon after found with several gunshots wounds and his throat slashed.

When THE WEEKEND STAR contacted the St Catherine South Police Division, our news team was told that a motive was not established as yet, and that the police have not made any arrest in relation to this crime.
