Three killed in St Ann crash

Carl Gilchrist, Star Writer

Three people, including a one-year-old baby girl, have now been confirmed dead as a result of a two-car collision which occurred on the Dunn's River main road in Ocho Rios, St Ann, on Saturday night.

Dead are one-year-old Naheeka DaCosta and 37-year-old Latoya Davis, both of Chalky Hill in St Ann, and Marsha Farquharson of Fraser Wood in Highgate, St Mary.

Reports are that around 6 p.m. on Saturday, a Mitsubishi Evolution motor car was travelling towards Ocho Rios when on reaching a section of the Dunn's River main road, the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Police said the vehicle then slammed into a taxi cab, a Toyota Corolla station wagon that plies the Ocho Rios to Chalky Hill route, that was heading in the opposite direction.

Davis, who was travelling in the station wagon, reportedly died at the scene, while Farquharson was later pronounced dead at hospital. The baby, who was admitted to hospital in serious condition along with another person, died yesterday morning.
