Water restrictions still on despite rains

The heavy rains experienced over much of the Corporate Area in recent days have done little to ease water restrictions imposed by the National Water Commission (NWC).

Manager for public relations at the NWC, Charles Buchanan, says the storage levels at the Mona Reservoir inched up from 24 per cent last week to 29 per cent last Thursday.

While noting that it was a welcomed improvement, Buchanan says it was not enough to allow the NWC to ease the water restrictions.

He also urged citizens to continue to observe the prohibition order against washing vehicles and watering plants, among other things.
