Range Hill Records releases first production

Despite their emergence on the musical scene less than two years now, Florida-based recording imprint Range Hill Records, is intent on making an indelible mark on the Jamaican music industry.

Owned and operated by Otis Wright, who dons the moniker 'Mr Wright', the label is set to release its first official production titled The Rock Island Rhythm in the coming days.

Reminiscent of the early 1990s, with its grooving bass-line and melodic vocals, the compilation features a number of burgeoning acts such as Shauna, Mr Wright and Karamanti, bolstered by seasoned campaigners Laden, Jah Vinci and Demarco.

Label executives say plans are now afoot for the unveiling of an aggressive promotional campaign heading into the Heroes Weekend and Christmas season. Annexed to said campaign will be a pair of videos for Demarco and Jah Vinci, to be shot by True Gift Entertainment.

"We truly believe in this project as one that can take Range Hill Records to that next level and gain us the requisite recognition of becoming a major player in the Jamaican industry, hence our reason for launching such an aggressive campaign," Wright said.
