Woman killed in hit-and-run

Detectives from the Waterford Police Station are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a female, who is believed to be about 40 years old, who was found on the Passagefort main road in St Catherine on September 2.

She is of dark complexion, slim build, about 165 centimetres (5 feet 5 inches) tall and was wearing a black blouse with the word 'Rock Girl' written in silver and a pair of blue jeans pants.

Reports are that about 9:15 p.m., the female and a male were allegedly attempting to cross the road when they were hit by a Toyota Noah motor truck. The driver of the motor vehicle did not stop. Both persons were taken to hospital where the woman was pronounced dead and the male treated and released.

The lawmen are appealing to anyone with information that can assist in their investigations to contact the Waterford police at 988-1763, police 119 emergency number, or the nearest police station.
