Police make headway in credit union robbery |

|
Police investigations are said to be at a sensitive stage regarding the robbery of millions of dollars from the People's National Co-operative Bank in Newell, St Elizabeth on Wednesday. According to information provided by the police, four men, believed to be armed, entered the financial institution about 10:30 a.m. posing as customers. The police said the men allegedly tied up the staff and locked them inside a vault before making off with approximately $3.4 million. One customer was said to be inside the bank conducting business when the robbery occurred. No one was injured.
