Milan welcome Juventus in big San Siro clash

Champions Juventus travel to the San Siro today for a mouth-watering Serie A clash against a seemingly resurgent AC Milan team, with both coaches with a point to prove.

The new-look Rossoneri, with ex-striker Filippo Inzaghi at the helm, have made themselves the team to beat after a 100 percent start to their league campaign with some impressive football to boot.

But after wins against Lazio (3 - 1) and Parma (5-4) in their opening encounters, Inzaghi and his band of marauding wingers, now-confident midfield and bruising defenders will face their sternest test yet, with the Juve machine rolling into town.

The contest, one of the most eagerly anticipated in European football, is made even spicier by the fact that it is former AC Milan boss Max Allegri, who is now in charge at Juventus, as he gets set to make his first return to the San Siro since he was sacked months ago.

Milan winger Jeremy Menez can hardly wait for the clash, which promises plenty of early-season fireworks.

"It will be a big show. Plenty of goals and emotion, almost like it was at Parma," the Frenchman told Gazzetta dello Sport. "Juve may still be ahead of us, but we`ll be playing on level terms, and we could achieve something special.

Juve's new signing Patrice Evra had a warning for his countryman and his teammates.

"Milan have home advantage, but it's down to us to show that we're the champions and want to win," the former Manchester United full-back said. "It's a difficult game, but I can't wait to play. This was exactly the type of match I wanted to be involved in when I signed for Juventus."

In addition to Menez, who has scored three goals in his two games, AC Milan will be relying on Japanese star Keisuke Honda,, Stephan El Shaarawy, with Fernando Torres expected to start from the bench.

Juve will look to star strikers Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente, with ace midfielder Arturo Vidal on the bench.
