Stewart blasts officials

Calabar coach Bradley Stewart was left infuriated after what he deemed to be incompetent refereeing during a 2-0 loss to Hydel in a group F top-of-the-table clash this week.

The result put the Ferry school five points clear of Calabar, and odds on favourites to claim the LIME SUPER CUP spot. Nicholas Nelson netted from a corner kick in the 3rd minute, and Rodari Edwards sealed the points in time added-on in a game that the visitors Hydel dominated throughout. However, Stewart does not believe the officials gave his team a chance to get into the match.

"I thought the refereeing was a major factor in determining the result of the game," Stewart, an experienced coach at the youth, premier league and national team level," Stewart said.

"It was almost like a preconceived situation. There were hardly any calls that truly reflected what was happening on the pitch. If you are going to be playing under those conditions it is going to be impossible to have results in your favour."
