Two accused killers get bail extension |

Christopher Thomas, STAR Writer WESTERN BUREAU: Two St James men accused of stabbing another man to death at a party last February had their bail extended in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday, as the case file was incomplete. Twenty-five-year-old Robert Morgan, from Roehampton, and Leroy Service, 27, from Lilliput, are charged with murder following the stabbing death of Adrian Brown on February 4. Their case was set for mention on November 14. argument developed The allegations are that about 12:10 a.m. on the day of the incident, the men were attending a party in Lilliput when an argument developed among them. The dispute escalated into a fight, during which knives were drawn and Brown was stabbed several times. He was subsequently pronounced dead at the Cornwall Regional Hospital. On Friday, Clerk of the Court Yanique Henry told presiding magistrate Carolyn Tai that the forensic certificate was outstanding from the file. "The officer spoke to a member of the forensic office and they are having difficulties to print it (certificate)," said Henry, who added that the officer was requesting an additional two months to get the document ready. RM Tai subsequently extended bail for Morgan and Service. "The paperwork in this matter is not ready, so I am going to give you another date in this matter," the magistrate told the defendants, as she set the case for mention on November 14. |
