Utility pole injures two in Clarendon

Shanique Samuels, Star Writer

Two people were injured, one hospitalised, when a utility pole belonging to the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) fell in the Halse Hall community in Clarendon yesterday morning.

Reports are that shortly after 9 a.m., a NSWMA garbage truck was doing collections in the community when it got entangled in wires and toppled three utility poles.

An elderly woman received minor injuries, while a 30-year-old man had to be hospitalised with several broken bones.

The residents complained that the utility poles were in a state of disrepair and needed to be urgently replaced.
