The St Catherine South police have made a major ammunition find with 301 assorted rounds seized yesterday. Reports are that about 4:45 p.m., police personnel were on patrol in Portmore. Upon reaching a section of the Braeton Main Road, a red Daihatsu motor was seen driving along the thoroughfare. The police signalled the car to stop and the driver obeyed. A search of the vehicle was conducted during which the ammunition was discovered. The driver was taken into police custody on suspicion of illegal possession of ammunition. His identity has been withheld pending further investigations in the matter. |
