Clarendon maintain winning run

Paul Clarke, STAR Writer

Former champions Clarendon College maintained their win streak when they dismissed Claude McKay High 4-0 in one of three ISSA/LIME daCosta Cup matches yesterday. The win pushed Clarendon College to maximum 15 points from five games, five clear of Edwin Allen High.

Mile Gully improved their chances of an inter-zone berth with a 2-1 win over DeCarteret College in Group F moving to nine points, three less than leaders Manchester High. Marcus Garvey High had a 3-0 home win over Browns Town to move to 15 points, the same as the unbeaten Cedric Titus, who play today.

Meanwhile, two former champions could well book their spots in the next round of the competition today. Group B rivals Frome High and Rusea's High are in pole position to do just that. Frome (nine points) and Rusea's (six) could become the first teams to advance when they tackle Green Island High and Merlene Ottey High respectively.
