25 for Taekwondo Champs
Twenty-five juniors, drawn from Hillel Academy, Jamaica College and Quest Preparatory, will represent Jamaica at the 2014 All Star International Open Taekwondo Championships, in Orlando this weekend. They will be led by coach, Master Instructor Conrad Jenkins.

The juniors, aged 6-14, will join more than 650 competitors from 14 countries competing in Forms (Taegueks) and Fighting (Kyorugi). The competition will utilise the Daedo Protective Scoring System which was used at the London 2012 Olympics.

Though not new to international competitions, having placed fifth at the 2013 Boston International Taekwondo Open Championships, this is the first time Jamaica will be entering a competition of this magnitude, with only juniors represented.

Master Instructor Jenkins is the only second Class WTF International Referee in Jamaica. He recently officiated at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China in August.

Participants: Hillel - Axel Torres, Sebastian Azan, Samantha Azan, Ethan Moore, Richard Todd, Lukas Thomson, Dylan Vaz, Nathaniel Williams, Thai Shirley, David Thomas, Sohan Chatani, Jaydon Gayle, Jacob Matalon, Abraham Hanna, Teresa Hanna, Danyaal Naqvi, Seth Walters, Karan Dhiman, Aman Dhiman, Alexander Shirley, Joshua Shirley, Gabriel Bradshaw, Giselle Bradshaw and Max Bradshaw (assistant coach).
