Gaza Slm kisses her passport after it was returned to her.

Tears flowed freely down the face of dancehall star Gaza Slim on Wednesday, as she exited the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.

Moments earlier, she had been told that the Crown was no longer pursuing the perverting the course of justice case against her and two fellow co-accused.

"I just started to cry, I don't know where the eye water came from, but it just started to pour down my face. I can't even describe the feeling, it was just superb, relief and joy in one. Now I know why the caged bird sings," she said.

The artiste, born Vawnessa Saddler, had been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice, alongside Adidja 'Vybz Kartel' Palmer and Andre 'Pim Pim' Henry.

"When I was in court, it was like I was in a dream, I wasn't even hearing anything that was being said by the lawyers or the judge, and when I got outside, I realized I was free and the tears came. This whole experience has brought me closer to God. He delivered me from this terrible situation," she said.

However, the Have Mercy On Me Lord singer may not be out of the woods just yet. Even though Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Paula Llewellyn entered a nolle prosequi, the entry of a nolle prosequi is not an acquittal, and the defendant may later be re-indicted on the same charge.

However, that has not taken the sail from her wings. She has officially changed her name to Vanessa Bling. On Thursday, her passport was returned to her.

"I am now free to travel, I have wings to fly. Free! I am building my own promotional and management team to govern my career," she said.

She will perform at a show in London in November, and has other bookings in countries such as The Bahamas, Belize and Trinidad.
