After years of singing lovers' rock with some success Nordia Witter, better known as CoCo, is confident her latest project, a dancehall track, 'Wuk Di Money', will be the one to blast her into the stratosphere.

The singer, who attended the Edna Manley College for Visual and Performing Arts, and has delivered songs over the years include Crazy, Nice And Slow and I Want You, said it was time to try something new, and chose dancehall. Wuk Di Money, she said, is already proving she made the right choice.

"It's been getting a lot of love, so far, so good. At the moment, it's the catch phrase that everybody gravitating to," she said of the song produced by Prodigal Yard with whom she has developed a recent relationship, which she believes can take her where she wants to go.

"We have been working together. We have a connection. I could not have got a better team."

A little sexuality, not too derogative

Coco explained that the song is basically a girls' anthem. "There is a little sexuality in it, yes, but it's not too derogative. There are many ways of 'wukking the money, bring it come'. A lot of people might have their own concept of what that means, but right now I am just saying that anybody that has the capability of going out there and working their own money, that's what the song is saying," she said.

"I've done over 20 songs, but right now this one is my baby."

Making the switch to dancehall has not been easy but it is a move she believes will ultimately bring her success.

"I am really feeling this change," she said.
