Celebs to entertain for six weeks

Ahead of the six weeks selecting face-off which will see four sound systems going head-to-head for one million dollars, sound system Bass Odyssey told THE WEEKEND STAR that plans are already underway to secure the top spot.

Questioned as to who he believes is their biggestrivalsin thecompetition, which features Richie Feelings,Uncontainables and Fire Links, owner Keith Walford had this to say:

"We look at all of them as good competitors. The man who you look at the least, often plans the most, and the man who people believe is the biggest competitor, is normally very complacent. But overall, Fire Links is my biggest competitor because we've clashed on numerousoccasionsover the years," Walford said.

The Thursday night series, which will run for six weeks, will kick-off on October 30 and end on December 4.Some of Jamaica's most popular celebrities from the entertainment and political landscape including Jamaica Labour Party Member of Parliament Olivia 'Babsy' Grange and Kari Douglas, People's National Party (PNP) councillor and daughter of PNP stalwart Easton Douglas; comedians Pretty Boy Floyd and Oral Tracey; music producers Skatta Burrell and DJ Frass; sports personalities Warren Weir and Dane Nelson; artistes TOK and Twin of Twins, and others, will compete for charity.

The weekly event will take place at the Famous Nightclub, Portmore, St Catherine, and will see the four selectors/sound systems going head-to-head in a round-robin format. Admission for the event is $500 for females, while males will be charged $1,000 at the gate.

There will also be special deals on beverages courtesy of title sponsors Magnum Tonic Wine. Other sponsors for the event are Famous Nightclub and Suncity Radio.
