Since winning the 2013 Gosplash Gospel Competition, Dahlia, Janna, Kemika, Chrisan, Cheryl-Lue and Jevena, better known as gospel group D'Vine HP, have been hard at work on their official debut single But God.

The group recently signed a distribution and marketing deal with 21st Hapilos Gospel, and hope the deal will work in their favour.

Produced by Hitz Factory Records, But God is a song of reflection and thanksgiving. According to the group, music should have a positive impact on its listeners.

"As we think about how difficult life is for so many we can do nothing but give thanks because it could have been so much worse. We have proven God to be a protector, provider and everything else we need to get through this life. The lyrics really speak for themselves," D'Vine HP said.

The group was officially established in 2013 and began making their mark on the local church scene after winning the competition and a million dollar distribution deal from 21st Hapilos Gospel as one of their many prizes.

The ladies compare their musical style as a fusion of contemporary and reggae-gospel and are inspired by artistes such as Kirk Franklin, Tye Tribbett, Papa San and Judith Gayle.

Representative at 21st Hapilos Gospel, Samoy Batchelor, says But God will officially launch D'Vine HP as a gospel group.

"It's not only a song launch, but a launch to introduce D'Vine HP to the gospel (music) industry. They have great potential and But God is a wonderful single that we can relate to. We are extremely proud to provide a distribution platform for them and look forward to working with them this year," she said.

The gospel community can look forward to the launch of But God at the Hapilos Entertainment Group premises, 17 Seaview Avenue, New Kingston, on Friday, October 31, 2014. The song will be released on October 28.
