One man is in custody following the seizure of two firearms and several rounds of ammunition during an operation in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, yesterday.

Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar police are that about 6:15 a.m., a team of officers was on an operation in the area when a premises was searched. An AK-47 Rifle with a magazine containing twenty-three 7.62 rounds of ammunition and a Witness 9mm pistol along with six 9mm rounds were seized.

The identity of the person taken into custody has been withheld pending further investigations.
