Doug Gore delivered a resounding climax to the 2014 circuit racing season at the Heroes of Drift and Speed at Dover, St Ann, over the Heroes' Day Weekend, winning all three Thundersport races and setting a new track record.

The veteran driver and his Audi DTM excited the crowds for the final meet of the year and word is that 'Hollywood', as Gore is popularly known, may have done enough to attract a brand-new sponsor for next season.

Gore's outstanding weekend began on Sunday, October 19, when he set a blistering new track record of 1:17.019, shattering the previous mark held by his greatest rival David Summerbell Jr by a half-second. Gore said everything came together for the record to happen.

Track record

"We thought the track record was always there but to run a record all things have to be right; the track conditions, the overseas competitors putting lots of rubber on the track, making the track gummy and a good rain the day before, taking off all the old dirt," he said. "We also made changes to the alignment this meet and the team said go for it!"

Word on the ground is that because of Doug's continued impressive performances with the Audi DTM that has been involved in some epic battles with Summerbell's Total-sponsored Evolution 8, he has been catching the eye of potential new sponsors. Gore declined to comment on news of a new sponsor coming onboard to join Wisynco, through their 'Bigga' and 'Boom' brands, Amsoil Racing, Sandals Resorts and Sherwin Williams Paints. "It is a gas sponsor," was all he would offer, saying it was too early to say.
