Defending champions Jamaica College (JC) came from a goal down to clip Holy Trinity 2-1 in their Group H fixture in the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA)/LIME Manning Cup football second round yesterday.

The game was the first of a double header, which was played at the Prison Oval football field in Spanish Town. Striker Chevon Bryan sent Holy Trinity a goal ahead in the ninth minute, when he latched on to a through ball. JC hit back just four minutes later with an equaliser through Rafique Bryan, who scored from a set piece. JC rounded out the scoring on 40th minute, when Alando Brown headed home from a corner kick.

Coach Miguel Coley was happy with the three points earned, but was less than satisfied with his team's performance.

"We looked out of sorts today, but we are happy for the three points," Coley said. The result means JC are undefeated in the competition and lead group G with three points.

Holy Trinity's coach Devon Anderson was disappointed with the result.

"I feel disappointed with the officiating in this game, it affected our performance and final result," he said. "The calls by the referee broke our game," Anderson said.

Meanwhile, the other game played between former champions Charlie Smith and Innswood High at ended in an exciting 1-1 draw. Chevon Crooks sent Charlie ahead in the minute 19 when he headed home a ball played over the top for him. Charlie Smith surrendered the lead three minutes from time in the 87th minute when substitute Delan Forrester fired a shot from the edge of the box, which goal keeper Leon Taylor parried into his own goal.
