WESTERN BUREAU: St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) forward Donjay Smith scored another hat-trick to lead the ISSA/LIME daCosta Cup champions to a 5-1 win over Cedric Titus at Drax Hall, St Ann, in yesterday's quarter-final round.

Smith's three-timer takes him to 16 goals for the season.

His opening goal was an absolute beauty, as he turned and curled an unstoppable shot over the stranded Romario Butler in the Cedric Titus goal in the fifth minute.

Sweetly timed shot

The second was just as pretty a sweetly timed shot on the half-volley that flew low and hard into the goal in the 35th minute. Smith's third and his team's final was a clinical finish, as he left Butler with no chance of effecting a save at the 80th minute.

Cedric Titus offered little forward threat, as they allowed STETHS to roam at will.

Their brightest spark came when Chaddane Linton squeezed a penalty pick under the STETHS keeper for his team's lone goal in the 82nd minute.

However, they had other opportunities from open play. Okeem Dormar's shot flew high over the goal, with STETHS's keeper, Carson Findlay, well beaten, in the 39th minute.

Dormar spurned another glorious chance to score in the second half on one of their few forays into the STETHS final third, but again, his attempt was woeful, as it left Findlay without much to do.

Rohan Lindsay, the STETHS captain, said he was pleased with the result as it leaves them in a very good position to advance to the semis.
