Chronixx

Jacob Miller

A new version of Jacob Miller's classic 1970s song Tenement Yard, featuring Chronixx and Inner Circle, will be released in January.

The song was recently recorded at Inner Circle's Circle House studio in north Miami, USA. A video will also be released in January.

Inner Circle guitarist Roger Lewis, who played on the original with his younger brother, bassist Ian Lewis, said getting Chronixx was "a wicked idea of linkage; the past (Jacob), the future (Chronnix), a messenger and the young people's singer".

Roger Lewis described Chronixx as a "heartical young brother" and has high hopes for the reworked Tenement Yard.

Inner Circle and the burly Miller cut the original Tenement Yard in the mid-1970s when both were on top of their game with songs like Tired Fi Lick Weed In A Bush and Peace Treaty.

Miller died in an auto accident in 1980 at age 27. Inner Circle, who won a Grammy Award in 1994 for Best Reggae Album with Bad Boys, recently completed a European tour in their 46th year.
