Bail was denied to a man in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court who is alleged to have killed another man with whom he had a dispute.

Charged with murder is 19-year-old Delano Goodison.

The Crown alleges that the accused, who is believed to be a major player in the Colombian Neck Tie gang, rode his bicycle up to the deceased before engaging him in conversation. The accused then pulled a sharp implement and stabbed him repeatedly.

It is further alleged that the accused bit the deceased in the right side of his face.

Goodison had to be rescued by the police after he was set upon by angry residents and beaten.

In court, defence attorney CJ Mitchell, in attempting to secure bail on behalf of his client, told Resident Magistrate Lorna Shelly-Williams that Goodison was not a flight risk and that he was not a part of any gang.

However, the magistrate told him she was not minded to grant his client bail at this time.

Goodison is to return to court on November 17.
