Chad Bryan, Staff Reporter

A picture of grief hung over the community of St Johns Road in Rockfort, Kingston, where eight people were shot and injured, three fatally on Wednesday night.

Dead are 32-year-old Loxley Brown of Harbour Road, 31-year-old Terrence 'Fidel' Dixon, and 23, year-old Aboyonei 'Abba' Strauchan, all of Kingston 2 addresses.

When THE WEEKEND STAR visited the community yesterday morning, a man, who appeared to be of unsound mind, was seen sanitising the floor of the bar where the men were brutally murdered.

At least 26 policemen and five soldiers from the Jamaica Defence Force were present in the community.

Residents milled around trying to make sense of the attacks. One resident who identified himself as 'Marky' reminisced on the days he had spent with the three men as tears filled his eyes.

"None out of the three of them was in problem with anyone. Them not even talk to people. I am close to all of them. We use to do everything together. In the space of one year mi lose four friends," he said, wiping the tears from his yes.

"Mi heart grieve," he continued, adding that it was on Wednesday that 'Abba' sat in the bar talking about his young son.

Residents have claimed that prior to the shootings, a white heavily tinted Nissan Tiida canvassed the community earlier in the day.

"I saw the car. The car went everywhere, but we couldn't know that is gunman in there. The car tint up, it well dark," a female resident explained.

Meanwhile, a senior policeman on the scene pointed out that three men have been taken into custody in relation to the shooting.

Investigations continue.
