Smirnoff created a huge splash Friday night in Ocho Rios with a three-bar launch of its latest promotion, Smirnoff Fridays.

According to Smirnoff brand manager, Jermaine Bibbons, Fridays are no longer boring, as Smirnoff plans to officially take control and shake things up a bit. This is what happened in Ocho Rios.

The blast started at the Ocho Rios Jerk Centre where patrons enjoyed their favourite jerk along with Smirnoff mixes. The actions then shifted to Mongoose Jamaica Restaurant for more food and Smirnoff fun, before climaxing at Ocean's 11 on the Ocho Rios waterfront, all with free entry.

At Ocean's 11, patrons were treated to selections from DJ Ashile, Timeless and Nico Bam Bam, and enjoyed Smirnoff special mixes, with one lucky patron winnng day passes for four to a north-coast hotel. Patrons also got free glasses with Smirnoff purchases.

"Like Beer Wednzday, Smirnoff Fridays will see the creation and consumption of more cocktails using the world's most popular vodka brand," said Marsha Lumley, market transformation manager at Red Stripe. "Leveraging an existing occasion where Smirnoff is being consumed and making it more exciting and fun for consumers is what this is all about. Smirnoff is always innovating ways for consumers to interact with the brand and, as such, this will be no different."

With the recent launch of Smirnoff's latest flavours, Marshmallow and Iced Cake, consumers can now experience a more fun side of Smirnoff vodka.

Smirnoff Fridays fits into the product's new brand campaign 'Exclusively for Everybody'.

"We just want to be simple for people to enjoy the brand, which is what the 'Exclusively for Everybody' embodies," Bibbons explained.

Smirnoff is now focused on getting the market to interact with its products on a regular basis through Smirnoff Fridays and by showing the simplicity of all cocktail mixes.
