Man remanded for choking woman
A man accused of assaulting the mother of his child was remanded in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm is Navado Nesbeth.

The Crown alleges that on August 31 about 10 a.m., after sending the child to get food from the accused, he got angry after an argument developed between them. He held onto the complainant's neck and choked her for about 20 seconds which caused her to fall to the ground. During that time, it is alleged that he stomped on her until she was rescued by another individual.

Nesbeth will know his fate on November 4 when he will be sentenced.
