Cops probe Kensington Crescent killing

The Kingston and St. Andrew Major Investigation Taskforce (MIT) has launched a probe into the fatal shooting of a man and injuring of another along Kensington Crescent, off Oxford Road in Kingston shortly before noon yesterday.

The dead man has been identified as 43-year-old labourer, Collin 'Gummy Bear' Mann of Kensington Manor Kingston 6 and a Christian Road address in Denham Town.

A securi'ty guard was also shot and injured during the attack.

Reports are that about 11:50am residents in the area heard several explosions and alerted the police.

THE STAR gathered that both men were standing on the compound of the complex when a red car drove up.

Reports are that three armed men alighted the vehicle and opened fire hitting the two before making good their escape.

Both men were taken to hospital where Mann was pronounced dead and the security admitted in stable condition.

The Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) confirmed the reports.

Investigations are ongoing.
