Cuban stones embassy

A Cuban national who entered Jamaica as a tourist over 15 years ago is currently remanded in custody for destroying the glass door of his country's embassy.

Charged with malicious destruction of property is 48-year-old Narciso Alejandro Clark, unemployed of no fixed address.

According to reports, on October 22, around 2 p.m., the accused went to the embassy of Cuba and threw several stones on the embassy's glass door, valuing $15,000, breaking it.

He was, however, caught on November 13, when he returned to the embassy to create more havoc and was subsequently arrested and charged.

It is alleged that when he was cautioned he said, "me a go do it again until me go back a Cuba."

According to the complainant, the accused frequented the embassy on several occasions demanding money and documents that he claims the Cuban government has for him.

Clarke is to return to court on November 26, when a member from the Immigration Department is to speak with the judge.
