Africa-based ragga/reggae/dancehall artiste NC Dread is steadily making a name for himself in Africa's growing dancehall and reggae industry.

The artiste now has his eyes set on breaking into the Jamaican market with the release of his single, Dem Cah Stop Mi. The single, featured on the 'Mullet Bay' rhythm, was released on his birthday, Wednesday. The rhythm is produced by Jamaicans Fras Twinz in collaboration with DJ Outcast.

NC Dread says Dem Cah Stop Mi is a musical testimony to his unwavering focus on making it in the music industry.

"This single is produced by two of the biggest producers to come out of Jamaica. They have endorsed me and are promoting the tune because they believe in it and they feel it is a solid song. I am representing Africa and I have been proving myself as a force to be reckoned with in the African dancehall scene and the globe," NC Dread said.

The rhythm also features dancehall heavyweights General Degree, Red Rat and TOK. NC Dread is also promoting his recently released mixtape, This Is Who I Am.

The artiste who resides in Cape Town, South Africa, said he was inspired to do music by reggae/dancehall artiste Wayne Wonder and hopes to pull more attention to African music.

Fras Twinz said NC Dread has talent.

"We are spreading our productions through the entire world and it is only fair that the motherland is one of those places which we target. Reggae/dancehall music has a strong and still-growing market in Africa and several of our rhythms are known hits in Africa.

"So right now we are doing some work with NC Dread because we view him as one of those good talents coming out of Africa and we want this rhythm to give him enough highlight in the Jamaican market. Because from it shat a yard it shat abroad," the production duo said.
