Ten persons arrested by TCND

Lawmen from the Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division have made a series of arrests at the Sangster International Airport and the Norman Manley International Airport, between Tuesday, November 18 and Monday, November 24.

A total of 10 persons were taken into custody for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act. The following persons were arrested and charged following the seizure of cocaine and marijuana and are booked to appear in court to answer to the charges:

Anlorea Thompson of Middleton Way, Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

Malden Martin of Wellington Street, Falmouth, Trelawny appeared before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, November 26, where he pleaded guilty to the charges laid against him. He is scheduled to reappear for sentencing on Thursday, December 18.

Jerdan Barrett of Content Drive, Greendale, Spanish Town, St Catherine.

Jason Oliver Smith of Birmingham, England, Winsome Brodber of Main Street, Central Village, St Catherine and Miriam Watson-Thompson of Lilliput, St James are all scheduled to appear before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court today.

Approximately 7.5 pounds of cocaine (3.43 kilograms) and 70.5 pounds ( 34.05 kilograms) of ganja, which has an estimated street value of $4.8 million and $250,000, respectively, were seized between November 18 and November 24.

The identities of the four other persons that were taken into custody have been withheld pending further investigations.
