Trial set for man accused of hitting female bus driver

A trial date has been set in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court in a matter involving a man who allegedly punched a female Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus driver in the face.

Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm is Ricardo Codner, who pleaded not guilty. He was ordered fingerprinted by Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey.

The Crown is alleging that Codner, who was a passenger aboard a JUTC bus, requested a stop but was told three times that the bus could not stop where he wanted.

An argument developed between himself and the driver, which led him to allegedly punching her in the face.

The Crown further alleging that he had threatened her.

He is to return to court on January 12, the date set for trial.
